Meadows Preview 9.20.23

Sep 20, 2023 | Article, Edison Hatter

The final Friday night races of the season earlier this month at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows saw eight new Pennsylvania Stallion Series Champions crowned on a fantastic 13-race card. Eight different trainers were able to send winners out and four drivers were able to pilot a single winner in the Championship races. The clear leader in the standings on that last Friday night was driver Dave Palone, as he was able to pick up four winners amongst the eight big races. In the final Championship race, FLASH MOVE made a big first over move for Palone and scored in a very impressive 1:50.0. All of the Pennsylvania Stallion Championship races were linked together in a special Pick 8 wager that returned a healthy $850.00 per 20-cent ticket on winners that were 1-5, 1-5, 1-5, 1-2, 2-1, 2-1, 3-1, and 15-1.

The rest of the month of September will see additional Stakes races at the Meadows in the form of the Keystone Classic races for 3-year-olds that will be held for all divisions over the September  27, 28, and 29 racing cards. The Meadows will be dark for the entirety of this week for track maintenance before resuming on September 27th with a three-day race week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) schedule that will continue through the end of the calendar year. The only exception will be a dark day on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23.
